Marlee Dyce, President
Marlee Dyce is nationally certified interpreter holding the NIC-Adv., NAD IV, Utah state certification, and the SD State Level V certifications. She is also the Director of Interpreter Training and Development for Sorenson Communications. Previously, she served as the Program Director and Assistant Professor of Sign Language Interpreting at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 13 years. Marlee has been a community interpreter for more than 20 years working in a variety of settings including medical, legal, mental health and Video Relay Service.  Marlee has  presented on such topics as ethical decision making, professionalism,  cognitive management, infusing technology in interpreter education, and forming meaningful relationships between Deaf individuals, students, and interpreters.

Dr. Barbara Shaffer, Vice President
Dr. Barbara Shaffer (RID SC:L and CI/CT) is a Professor in the Department of
Linguistics, and the Director of the Signed Language Interpreting Program at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Shaffer’s research interests include intersubjectivity in discourse, and intersubjectivity in interpreted interactions, the grammaticalization of signed languages, modality and mood in signed languages, evidentiality and stance markers in signed and spoken languages Recent publications include: “Tracing the Origins of Legal Terminology in ASL: Perspectives for ASL/English Interpreters”, which appeared in The Journal of Interpretation; as well as a recent chapter entitled: as well as a chapter with Terry Janzen for the volume Sign Language Research, Uses and Practices entitled “The interpreter’s stance in intersubjective discourse”.

Dr. Carolyn Ball, Treasurer
Carolyn Ball, PhD, CI & CT has been teaching in higher education for over twenty-five years. She specializes in leadership, translation and the history of the American Sign Language Interpreting profession. Dr. Ball is a nationally certified interpreter. Carolyn has served on several national boards and is currently a commissioner on the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education. Dr. Ball’s primary area of research has focused on the history of interpreter education.

Dr. Debra Russell, Secretary
Debra Russell, PhD, is a Canadian certified interpreter, educator and researcher.  Her interpreting practice spans over thirty years. She has worked with Deaf interpreters since the early 1980's and continues today.  Her interpreting focus is medical, legal, mental health and employment settings. She has had a long history of leadership positions at the local, national and international level, serving on several volunteer organizations. She is the Past President of the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI), and has served as Commissioner for the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE) since 2016. As the previous David Peikoff Chair of Deaf Studies, her research interests included mediated education with interpreters, interpreting in legal settings and with legal discourse, and Deaf-hearing interpreter teams. She is extensively published in the field of interpretation. She loves to travel and has presented in over 62 countries.

Dr. Glenn Anderson
An alumnus of Gallaudet University, Dr. Anderson also earned his Master’s degree from the University of Arizona and doctoral degree from New York University.   Prior to his retirement in December 2020, he was a Full Professor in the Interpreter Education Program at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.   He is currently chair of the Gallaudet University Board of Trustees and a Commissioner for the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE).    
In May 2017, he was presented with a Doctor of Humane Letters Honorary degree during Gallaudet University’s 147th commencement.

Brian Morrison
Brian Morrison, M.Ed, CI, CT, is currently an assistant professor and program coordinator of the ASL/English Interpreting program at the Community College of Philadelphia.  He received his Master’s of Education from Northeastern University and has been teaching for 18 years.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Education of the Deaf and has been involved in the profession for over 25 years.  He is a past president of CIT and served on the board for eight years.

Dr. Keith Gamache
Keith Gamache, Jr. (KJ), has taught courses in ASL, Deaf Studies, and Interpreting for more than twenty years.  He was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from California School for the Deaf in Riverside.  He earned his PhD in Interpretation at Gallaudet University with an emphasis on researching interpreted work through Deaf lens.  He maintains a professional ASLTA certification and a CDI certification.  He has given numerous lectures and workshops all over the country.  In addition, he wants to support the working collaboration between ASL and Interpreting educators to improve the quality of interpreting education programs.  He is currently an ASL program coordinator at Irvine Valley College in Irvine, CA.  He is married with four children.

Dr. Lisa Godfrey
Lisa Godfrey (Ed.D., CI and CT, Ed: K-12, ASLTA-Professional) has 30 years experience as an interpreter and interpreter educator.  She is former coordinator for the Interpreter Education Program at Tennessee Temple University.  She currently teaches American Sign Language at the secondary level in Georgia.  She is the former President of the Tennessee Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the former National Coordinator for the ASL Honor Society through ASLTA.

Kristi Love
Kristi is a nationally certified interpreter with experience interpreting in post-secondary, VRS and medical fields. She currently works at RIT/NTID as an interpreter. Kristi also serves as the Randleman Program Coordinator,  a program that aims to equip interpreters of color to meet the demands of working in a post-secondary environment. Kristi completed her M.S. in Criminal Justice from the Rochester Institute of Technology and her B.S. in Signed Language Interpreting from the University of New Mexico. Outside of interpreting, Kristi has been a big sister in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Program as well as served on boards in her local community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling as much as possible.

​Matthew O’Hara
Matthew O’Hara, CI, CT, NAD IV, CAE, is an interpreter practitioner and mentor in Washington, DC. He earned a masters degree from Gallaudet University in education and human services administration. He has been a nationally certified ASL/English interpreter since 2001. Additionally, Matthew is a court mediator and nonprofit aficionado. He has been a CCIE commissioner and program reviewer since 2006. He earned a Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2007 and worked as an association management executive specializing in certification, accreditation, ethics, finance and operations. Throughout his career Matthew served on a variety of boards and committees locally and nationally, including education, certification, accreditation and ethics. He has written and presented on topics including nonprofit management, ethics adjudication, conflict resolution and diversity.  Most recently, he completed a graduate certificate program and earned licenses to teach general and special education in 2020.
